We started our tour quite early today because we should be expecting a lot but see for yourself. Our tour guides were Benny and Gisela.
Both were really great and Benny poured Rum straight into mugs on the Tourbus.
The road was extremely bumpy and the bus didn't have the best suspension. Not spilling the Rum wasn't easy sometimes. Unfortunately, that's how it went most of the time.
We first stopped at a sugar cane plantation.
We continued to a small Cigar Factory in Bayaguana. We were shown how cigars are rolled and flavored. We bought some flavored Cigarillos there and looked at the souvenirs.
Cigar Factory
Ok, next stop was supposed to be a traditional Local Village and we should buy something for the kids there like groceries or school supplies...and that's what we did here...
We drove into the village and the children came running, some of the parents had their children on their shoulders and we were supposed to distribute or throw things from the bus. It all had a weird touch and we didn't feel entirely comfortable with it. More about this in the video.
We were then allowed to inspect a house that also produced cocoa, coffee and more. Of course in small quantities and for sale.
Locals Home
They was very nice with us...
That was a bit too much hustle and bustle for me in the morning and I took pictures outside.

But Amanda & Gisela had fun roasting coffee inside.
Outside, Benny showed us cocoa trees, among other things.

Yes, that was a lot of input.
We continue to Balneario Salto Alto. A large area with many different bird species, a restaurant and many beautiful flowers.

So we start to the Cascade Salto Alto...16min to go.
Time for a Vanilla Cigar and some photography.

Behind the Cascade...
A fantastic place!
The water was fresh, the waterfall was powerful and nature was very invigorating. It was a very, very great trip and many thanks to Faenza Tours, Benny and Gisela.
And in the evening a nice live band in our Hotel Costa Caribe
Much thanks to Pflanzenbestimmung / Botanik-Gemeinschaft.
